Richard Pawlak was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts. He attended New England School of Art in Boston and graduated Montserrat School of Art in 1981.
Richard studied drawing and painting under Oliver Balf and Paul Scott, both students of abstract expressionist Hans Hofmann. Richard also studied under influential artists, Joseph Jeswald and George Gabin.
Richard's paintings have been displayed in galleries on Cape Cod, Rhode Island and in the Boston area. They have won several awards. Richard and his family live in Mashpee on Cape Cod.
This grouping under the title, Seeking Human Kindness, includes works from Richard's early frescoes- his street studies, as well as his specific series representing women in everyday life. Richard's history as an artist is profoundly represented in the human form and his appreciation of people in everyday urban life. This is modern and relevant subject matter; images of moments that someone (Richard Pawlak) has noticed as being beautiful and worthy of appreciating and remembering.

I am blessed to have met Richard.
I actually went looking. Way back, so long ago :-) in the summer of 2020. I went looking indeed and found that this man and his artwork existed. There was nothing much to say...the people and the colors and the lines were all there..and proof was there that "call if you just want to talk" .. so I did.. Nothing matters too much that you can't care for the ones you can care for ...and that you can't be compassionate and understanding.
