Passing is a personal and emotionally subconscious creation. Without planning, it became an homage to my father who passed away in December of 2024. The bell, which was a sentimental trinket kept for years like others on shelves, bowls, my piano, was a present my father brought back from one of his trips when I was a child. The pear or mound represents the earth fusing, holding on to create a hopeful reverberating permanence with the structure. My father once owned, by modern definition through monies, a small piece of land on a hill on which there were pear and apple trees which he would have loved to leave for his children, but it was not to be. He was, among many things, a classical music radio dj and his love of music was passed to me at a very early age. He received a green burial. We laid him in the earth with flowers and a crown of lavender. I did not think about the making of this piece. It became or happened, in the way that one “feels” or knows the presence of a loved one who has passed. For me, this semblance evokes many associations that are striking in a spectrum of connected ways.

think good thoughts is a playful mini- iteration of a rock garden, to which, traditionally, one goes and literally thinks beautiful, peaceful thoughts and maybe moves and rakes through their thinking. Creating the rocks or orbs was wonderfully fun. Growing up, my mother made salt play dough for us so this was the materials inspiration..literally, necessity being....and in the vein of keeping things simple and embodying an intentional yet unfettered mind and spirit, there is humility. Rolling the orbs with pastel dust to create unique swirling patterns was very satisfying. I did not feel the need to secure my creations with glue or modge podge although I did for some. I wanted to leave them be.

For Atalanta, several works in progress....more coming
a primal forest, a labyrinth , a way home
a rose, arrows. rows ...little pine soldiers and beacons for Atalanta and a magic carpet too.
This past December 2025, I joined the Lincoln Holiday Arts Market to show my prints and sell a grouping of cards that I created from my artwork. Printed postcards and notecards but also cards of original work were included. The event was a bit slow yet cozy and friendly. I enjoyed chatting with other vendors and engaging with locals, including a beautiful and proudly 105- year- old woman with one functional eye who bought a set of cards. After searching through many and asking for help (she wanted light and bright images) she picked one and asked, "Now, what is this?" "It's a magic carpet" I said. She smiled and exclaimed, "Well, of course it is !"

2. 26. 25

2.23.25 running out of white paper, of any kind, was a good thing. Good old card stock in melon.. a bit tricky to photograph ..but i loved the play of color...so nice to find ways to use color where you didn't see them.
Will continue to work on unity/continuity of color saturation, precision of form, whether organic, abstract, geometric... I love the way the white pulled off the blue in this first one.

I was shy to use this really lovely old black paper that I have had forever.
The first one reminded me of a naturalist's arrangement plate..so delicate and peaceful.

I first tried forms in crushed chalk...these are acrylic and pastel dust. I'm so excited to find ways to get the effect of the light colors picking up fine lines on dark but also delicate paper.
2.21.25

2.20.25
ghosts or ghosts of ghosts that have some nice forms ..especially the one on the left, in which I turned the paper three times, playing, not knowing it would create something interesting,

It's February 2025. I've been away traveling and recently reentered my current affair with the print process. In case anyone is reading, these images are play and work in progress. I am in school, in my home. I have not shown work, framed or sold work. I am not there. And it's not necessarily my agenda.
This page is a record - keeping, discrete sharing and inspiration- forward endeavor. And gosh, some of my earlier attempts below., not so good ... However, I feel I made progress with this recent reentry, in terms of form and methods.
Even little breakthroughs are exciting. And hey, spring is on it's merry way. Just ask the wind.

November 2024

9/20/24 - well I'm really not crazy about all these shades of gray...altho there is a hint and warmth of color thereabouts...and I love my thumbnail proofs..This has been really fun and consuming since I found a basic print process that suits the bajillion images in my being to bring to life..whether they surprise me or not with their result. It turns out wire and metal, though, are things I gravitated to when I started printing and sculpting years ago...
we all should be as forgiving, receptive, bendy ...
a winner, a peach, a beauty from October
October 2024 ..I made a ton of prints in this time period, using acrylic paints, pastel dust, stencils and various blocking/contour forms. here's some..

playing with wire, winter 2023/24 - a return to old ideas and sketches and searching for new process...settled into ball bearings and guitar strings mainly, to create formative pieces for vignettes but also for the designs and forms themselves
